Spring School

The Spring School is the highlight of our project.

The aim is to connect activists and organizations from different regions of Latin America and Schleswig-Holstein and to provide new perspectives through a global exchange of information and joint work processes. The focus is on learning from the Global South. The aim is to get to know each other's approaches and perspectives in dealing with socio-political challenges and, ideally, to apply them directly.

In 10 small groups, the participants have developed various projects in digital meetings over the past few months that offer contributions on climate protection, feminism, digitalization or mental health. This has resulted in exciting podcasts, workshops, exhibitions and websites.

From May 19 to 26, 2024, around 30 people from Latin America and Schleswig-Holstein will come together at the International Educational Center Jugendhof Scheersberg to work together in person for the first time, hold workshops and deepen their cooperation. The participants from Latin America in particular will have the opportunity to get to know Schleswig-Holstein during excursions.

The highlight of the Spring School will be a public event on May 23 at the Alte MU in Kiel, where the participants' projects will be presented. Visitors will have the opportunity to listen to audio samples of various podcasts, admire a photo exhibition and take part in exciting workshops. The day will end with Latin American beats by Lisa Cropp.

The event offers a unique opportunity to connect with activists and artists from Latin America and Schleswig-Holstein, create new networks across continents and pave the way for potential future collaborations.
